“That’s a Braquenié!” exclaim design connoisseurs – a little phrase that speaks volumes about the prestige of these fabrics. This historic design house was founded in 1824, and it epitomises the spirit of French classicism. Braquenié is renowned for its printed calicos, its cottons, its Toiles de Jouy and its unique hand-knotted carpets, and it has always had a presence in places where style reigns supreme: the Louvre, Chambord, the Vatican, all the European courts in the time of Napoléon III, the house of Victor Hugo, and so on. Today, the brand’s many contemporary customers include a large number of boutique hotels. This specialist in French 18th- and 19th-century motifs joined the Pierre Frey group in 1991.
