Fascinated since childhood by art, craftsmanship and the architectural landscape that surrounds him, Charles Tassin studied interior architecture at Penninghen, then at Ensaama.
He is fascinated by the "beautiful" and amazed by the old... so it was only natural that, after starting his career with a short-lived architectural firm specialising in luxury events, Charles Tassin decided to set up his own interior design firm in 1996.
Following the example of the decorator-engineers of the 1940s-1970s, he has a deep attachment to the decorative arts of the 20th century. He decorates and arranges numerous restaurants, hotels, galleries, flats, clubs and villas in France, England and Kuwait and brilliantly blends glamour and French elegance.
In 2012, he founded the MAY gallery in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, where his creations are exhibited. He is passionate about the work of seating and especially sofas.
CONCEPT :
Charles Tassin's vision as an architect and decorator and his sensitivity to space led him to design a modular ensemble for Pierre Frey that can be cleverly integrated into small or large spaces.
The PATT line combines comfort with purity of design. Elegant and imposing at the same time, the sofa, half sofa, armchair or footstool are apprehended like sculptures and meticulously worked on each side. Thanks to multiple combinations, each element can be adapted to suit the individual and can be used both together and separately.
