This essential design of the Maya collection is inspired by the basic plant element found throughout Latin America: the cactus. Handled in a distinctive, atypical way, the cactus in this pattern is "softened" and enhanced through various printing and embroidery techniques. The linen backing gives this motif a light fluidity, a delicate drape and a very pleasant hand. Through the watercolor effect of the printed drawing, and make it somehow resembles to an old master's painting. As for the embroidery effects, they combine the thinness of viscose yarn for the thorns with the gracefulness of thin soft wool, re-embroidered by hand for the flowers.
