Trained as a naval architect and later specializing in design, Axel de Beaufort has developed a global approach that seamlessly blends technical precision with aesthetic sensibility. He quickly gained recognition in the yachting world, where his boat designs have earned multiple awards.
At the helm of his own residential and naval architecture studio, he designs both the structural elements of vessels and their interior furnishings, advocating for a holistic vision of spatial design. Today, he leads exceptional projects for a major French luxury house, creating custom-made pieces with bold yet refined lines. One of his most iconic achievements is Art Explorer, the world’s largest sailing catamaran, designed as a platform for a traveling cultural exhibition. For this award-winning vessel, he created a monumental U-shaped sofa, which later inspired the Boudoir sofa for Pierre Frey Mobilier.
Axel de Beaufort develops bespoke pieces for most of his projects. At the intersection of design, architecture, and exceptional craftsmanship, his work embodies a functional elegance deeply rooted in the French art of living.
