ALTO by Oleg Pugachev presents one of his first forays into upholstered furniture, exploring the harmony between softness and structural design. Compact yet sculptural, the collection is defined by its subtle interplay of proportions and details: classic scrolled armrests, gently tapered legs, and delicate piping that outlines the silhouette with quiet elegance. Blending timeless and modern influences, ALTO offers generous, inviting upholstery that appears to float above the ground, bringing a sense of airiness and grace. Designed to integrate seamlessly into smaller interiors, the collection retains a strong visual presence through its refined balance of form and function. The name ALTO evokes a sense of elevation, both in the sophistication of its design and the lightness of its construction. It also nods to the Art Déco era, particularly the style of the Wiener Werkstätte, reinterpreted in a lighter, more contemporary way. With ALTO, Oleg Pugachev offers a poetic, understated, and versatile approach to contemporary seating.

Oleg Pugachev

Oleg Pugachev graduated from the Weissensee Academy of Art Berlin in 2013 with a degree in product design. He began his career as a freelance designer, collaborating with various design and architecture firms, including Sauerbruch Hutton, Studio 7.5, and Formfjord, while also pursuing self-initiated projects. Eventually, he established his own studio in Berlin, focusing on furniture, home accessories, and lighting.

His style is defined by a commitment to distilling design to its essence, while celebrating the beauty of intricate detail. Both pragmatic and open to the unexpected, he allows the creative process to guide the evolution of each project, resulting in objects that are timeless yet modern, functional yet expressive, a design language that is thoughtful, balanced, and deeply human.
