PIERRE FREY X ELISABETTA FREDA

The BETTY line, designed by Elisabetta Freda, is an intimate tribute to heritage, memory, and materiality. Inspired by a chair created by her father, it reflects a subtle dialogue between personal legacy and contemporary exploration. Merging the strength of metal with the softness of fabric, each piece in the BETTY line integrates naturally into its surroundings, while the textile brings warmth and sensitivity to the forefront.

ELISABETTA FREDA

Based in Rome, Elisabetta Freda drew her first inspiration from the world of her father, Alfredo Freda, one of Italy’s most talented architects. She accompanied him on numerous projects across the Middle East and Italy, where she developed her understanding of design. For Elisabetta, every creation is rooted in culture, the essential foundation for any meaningful design.

Her style seamlessly blends the contemporary with the historical. With great attention to detail, proportion, and atmosphere, she creates bespoke interiors that reflect her clients’ personalities. She strives for harmony by working from emptiness, allowing space and form to find their balance, a signature approach that is both refined and thoughtful.

Deeply passionate about French design and Italian influences from the 1930s, 1950s, and 1960s, she regularly collaborates with French artisans and naturally partners with Maison Pierre Frey. Elisabetta Freda avoids fleeting trends in favor of timeless designs, rich with memory, meaning, and dialogue.

Fluid continuity of forms

The line stands out for the fluid continuity of its forms: armrests and legs trace gentle curves that soften the rigidity of the metal. Both strong and delicate, BETTY places function at the heart of its design, without ever compromising the emotion of the gesture or the precision of its lines.

The name BETTY is a personal homage, drawn from her own nickname, Betta, and from her grandmother, also named Elisabetta, who was called Betty while living in the United States. Through these pieces, the designer reaffirms her identity as a craftswoman, embracing fine detailing and perfectly balanced proportions.
