- Pierre Frey x Koralie -
From graffiti to panoramic wallpaper
After a few years spent in Brooklyn with her husband, a multidisciplinary artist, and their two children, they returned to France and settled in their house and studio in the South East Basque coast.

Koralie draws her inspiration from her travels and from the different cultures and traditions of the world, which offer an aesthetic richness and a wide variety of symbols. But it is nature above all and the very ordered, almost mathematical way in which leaves, flowers and buds are attached on a stem that amazes and influences her.

The artist creates hundreds of patterns that she transforms into stencils that she uses to build her canvas. To imitate nature, she repeats these subtle geometric shapes endlessly and very symmetrically. No place is left to chance. She then integrates imperfection into perfection and superimposes elements according to her inspiration, lets splashes and shifts appear, plays with colours to give life and movement to her painting.

Spotted on Instagram, it is the originality and elegance of this new creative language composed of kaleidoscopic rosettes and imaginary palm groves painted by the artist, which particularly seduced Pierre Frey's creative team.

Sharing the same values, authenticity and know-how, craftsmanship and design, eclecticism of tastes and motifs, the Maison Pierre Frey has given Koralie carte blanche. Koralie imagines, in a blue version, a palm grove combining her Mediterranean culture and oriental inspirations. The vegetation is luxuriant like douanier a Rousseau jungle, abundant and vibrant like Claude Monnet’s garden in Giverny. The fawn version, wilder, but still in the artist's fetish tones, is an interpretation of Koralie's work by Pierre Frey's creative studio. A four-handed work which, without distorting the original work, conveys different emotions.
