Merveilles d'Egypte collection

The collections of textiles, wallpapers and rugs " Merveilles d'Egypte " resonate with the sacred art, materialized by the pyramids and their decorations with a form of celebration of life on the Nile. They pay tribute to an Egyptomania born at the end of the 18th century with the Egyptian campaign, whose civilization, power, mystery and refinement have never ceased to fascinate scientists, historians and artists.

Working in partnership with the Louvre to celebrate, in particular, the bicentenary of the discovery of hieroglyphs by Champollion in 1822, the Maison Pierre Frey new collection displays a wide range of motifs and drawings, between faithful reproductions and free inspirations, with a respectful view of the preserved works but also a contemporary and graphic reading.
