Pavillon des Jardiniers

Versailles, France

Built in 1681 by Louis XIV’s favourite architect, Le Grand Contrôle once welcomed Europe’s political and cultural elite. Restored by Airelles, this historic residence offers an immersion into the French art of living of the 18th century through eleven guestrooms and two signature suites designed by interior architect Christophe Tollemer. Upholstery fabrics, curtains, and wall hangings were recreated bespoke by Maison Pierre Frey from original sketches preserved in the archives of the Château de Versailles. For this project, archives from Maison Pierre Frey were selected for their ornamental richness and timeless elegance.
