Adrien Testard is an artist and textile designer whose work celebrates the country’s heritage on the border between the visual arts and textiles. He draws inspiration from his rural family roots and his travels, exploring the intimate and sensitive layers of his landscapes of memory. After graduating from the École des Arts Décoratifs de Paris and Bunka University in Tokyo in 2018, Adrien Testard began his career in fashion as an independent freelance artistic director. At the same time, he began to develop his artistic universe through a series of works on paper exploring the notions of survival, memory and transmission. His creative process revolves around travel diaries, popular archives and traditional Japanese techniques, in particular shibori, a resist-dyeing method that Adrien Testard reinterprets on paper.
