This design brings together a selection of maps and plans of the gardens of Versailles, taken from Pierre Prieur’s Recueil des Maisons Royales, dating from the 18th century. They depict with precision and delicacy the Palace of Versailles and its gardens, the groves and kitchen gardens of the royal estate, as well as the Trianon palace and its grounds. The soft, springlike color palette of the original drawings is faithfully reproduced and printed full-width on a refined cotton.
