Episode 12#GUESTTALENTS: LITHO LINE by Guillaume Delvigne

Guillaume Delvigne is a drawer. His work, of great sensitivity, is influenced by photography, architecture and more generally, by everything that is visual. He seeks the perfect balance, his style is soft and pure while being extremely rigorous, his sense of detail very marked.

His LITHO furniture line, designed for Pierre Frey, evokes a primitive landscape where each piece has its own personality and resonates with each other. The range continues to expand today, giving birth to large, massive, sculpted forms with a polished, almost mineral appearance.

Designer's words

How would you describe the LITHO furniture line?

It's a family of pieces of furniture, mainly seats, where each piece has its own character while echoing the others. Their shapes are soft, as if eroded by time and the elements, but also carved with precision.

How would you sum up this line in 3 words?

Modern, sculptural and poetic.

Where did you find your inspiration?

I tried to get away from the classical codes, to create a landscape of singular but coherent forms, objects to be contemplated from all sides, inspired by rock formations.

Why did you choose to call the line "LITHO"?

I wanted a word that comes from the lexical field of stone, something that evokes the mineral, that is short and easy to remember.

What is the characteristic detail of the line?

A mixture of organic and geometric forms, the volumes are very drawn, the edges are reinforced by the passage of a piping, they unfold a continuous line. Some slices are cut cleanly and reveal precise shapes.

What is the richness of this furniture?

Their strong identity thanks to their assertive design, but also their generosity and their comfort

Did you work in the same way for the extension of the range?

Yes, I had the advantage of having found a style and I quickly saw the potential. The ideas came quite naturally to extend the family and imagine brothers, sisters, cousins...

Why did you choose to work on a bench, a sofa, a lounge chair and a slipper chair?

After discussions with the Pierre Frey team, we wanted to cover all the major seating typologies and offer a new take on them in a large collection.
