How did you work with Pierre Frey's design office? 

Pierre Frey asked me to think of a concept for side tables or coffee tables that would complete the "Icône" collection, referring to the singularity and perfect technical mastery of art gallery pieces.

I then transcribed my inspiration into drawings and Pierre Frey's design office took it from there to create the plans. The team of carpenters then took over and made the pieces in record time. By inserting a decorative and customizable textured wallpaper under the table's central glass top, I wanted to combine the creation of contemporary furniture with the company's original business of publishing fabrics and wallpapers. 

What was the inspiration for the ALTAR line you designed for Pierre Frey? 

I am fascinated by the furniture found in churches and particularly by the altar, the central piece around which communities gather. This piece of furniture has a double meaning, both ritual and convivial, due to its position and function, and must be of exemplary design and manufacture.

The ALTAR series of tables reflects the particularities of this piece of architecture: generous proportions, sculptural, one-piece, essential, functional, inherited from age-old traditions, composed of rich materials... The coffee table and the pedestal table bring a contemporary look by their imposing presence, but also create purity and elegance by the impressive work of cutting the multiple facets on which the light plays and catches.

How would you define the specificities of your work?  

I particularly appreciate the work of craftsmen and am very curious to discover and understand their manufacturing techniques. They allow me to adapt my creations according to what is possible and inspire me to develop new projects.
