Portuguese by birth, Fernanda Da Rocha began working at the age of 15 in a large textile company where she learned sewing. She left her native country twelve years later to settle in France. There she continued her career, climbed the ladder and acquired exceptional know-how. After several years in the clothing and luxury automobile sectors, she joined Pierre Frey in 2019 where she works as a seamstress in the furniture production site located in the North of France and alongside a talented team of designers, seat carpenters, seamstresses and upholsterers. 

Every week, dozens of seat covers, headboards and cushions pass through the expert hands of Fernanda Da Rocha. Her expertise enhances the various furniture collections and textile creations of the House. 

The House now has two Knights of the Order of Arts and Letters in its teams: Fernanda Da Rocha and Olivier Joannen awarded in 2019.

The distinction of Knight of the Orcier of Arts and Letters is one of the principal among the four ministerial orders of the French Republic. lt rewards the commitment and contribution of personalities to the preservation and promotion of French cultural heritage.

lt is a real pride for Pierre Frey to have two knights of the Orcier of Arts and Letters on its team. ln 2019, Olivier Joannen, hand weaver, also received this distinction, requested by the Colbert Committee, to promote the value of hand crafts and to set up these craftsmen as models for the young generation.
