One name, two artists

Djo-Bourgeois ! A mythical name for fans of the modernist movement that in fact belies the fact of two artists with complementary talents: Georges Bourgeois, known as Djo-Bourgeois, architect and designer recognized with a dazzling career, and Elise, his wife, textile designer. Like many artists of the time, they created as a duo. The former works on space and imagines furniture that the latter covers. As famous as Sonia Delaunay at the time, Elise was nevertheless forgotten, due to a career that was abandoned too early following the sudden death of her husband,

Graphic designs with sophisticated colors

The rediscovery of a set of original drawings and canvases from the 1920’s in Pierre Frey's archives, signed by Elise Djo-Bourgeois, now makes it possible to give color to her creations, which were previously known through a few black and white photos.

Pierre Frey celebrates the original talent of this duo by launching a complete range of fabrics, wallpapers, rugs and furniture.
