The NATALIE line designed by the duo Giorgia Zanellato and Daniele Bortotto for Maison Pierre Frey, extends to reveal, in addition to the sofa, an armchair as well as a coffee table with generous curves and a pure designed structure.

A sculptural design

Designers words

How would you describe the Natalie line in 3 words?

 Sophisticated - Timeless - Generous

How did you find the inspiration for the creation of this line?

We found our inspiration by looking at the places that surround us, by taking the time to look at them attentively in order to immerse ourselves in the shapes and feelings. We like to tell stories through our creations, through the volumes we draw.

Why did you decide to call the line Natalie?

We decided to call this line Natalie because we are fascinated by the artistic and literary culture of the parisian life in the last century.  The name Natalie echoes Natalie Clifford Barney, a 20th century American woman of letters known for her literary and artistic salon dedicated to women on rue Jacob in Paris during the interwar period.

What is the characteristic detail of the Natalie line?

The Natalie line is characterized by its solid wood base with its 4 ovoid feet. It gives a sculptural aspect to the whole.

What characterizes your work as a designer?

Our work as a designer is characterized by the constant dialogue between our design duo, the the craftsmen and our clients.

An anecdote about the manufacturing process?

We had some great discussions about the cushions. At first, the cushions were part of the project. We tried different sizes of cushions, different comfort. Then, the line looked beautiful, pure and refined without cushions. So we decided to let the customer choose and to propose the cushions as an option.
