WOW!house Design Center, Chelsea Harbour is the first-ever exhibition to recreate the interior of a 400m2 house at the Design Center. Each room in the house is staged by a renowned interior designer, working in close collaboration with fabric and furniture manufacturers.
Maison Pierre Frey had already collaborated with interior designer Linda Boronkay when she was Design Director of Soho House. She was asked to design the Pierre Frey Salon in this ephemeral house.
WOW!house is about interior designers coming together with favourite design houses and makers to create their fantasies. For me, the opulence and mystery of Ancient Egypt has always been an obsession, and WOW!house felt like the perfect opportunity to push boundaries and create an exciting, and hopefully awe-inspiring space inspired by this incredible civilisation.
Pierre Frey's beautiful Egyptian collection encapsulated what we wanted for the room, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.

lnspired by the splendour and glamour of the recent Pierre Frey fabric collection, Merveilles d'Egypte, Linda Boronkay had fun juxtaposing elements that illustrate the power, mystery and sophistication of ancient Egypt with contemporary forms and finishes to create a room that is as inspiring as it is unexpected.

The decorator incorporated bold architectural elements in a very bright blue, majestic columns, mouldings and oversized door frames in a very conceptual way. The immersive effect of the space is augmented by large, tiered pendants and a sparkling silver ceiling that accentuates the height in a truly mesmerising way.
Linda Boronkay found her primary inspiration in the opulent AMENHOTEP Genoa velvet from Pierre Frey's MERVEILLES D'EGYPTE collection and in the sculpted BYBLOS velvet, inspired by the luxurious jewels of ancient Egypt. The furniture in the room is upholstered in plain silk velvet. They contrast elegantly with the sumptuous patterns of Maison Pierre Frey while unifying the space.
