A rich jacquard with a geometric pattern typical of tapa cloth, a form of barkcloth from the Pacific islands. Strips of mulberry tree bark are soaked, beaten and assembled to form a sheet. When dry, the cloth can be decorated with painted patterns. Tapa cloth is used to make clothing and in some places as bedcovers or room dividers in the home. It plays a key role in official ceremonies and events such as weddings.
The Pierre Frey studio creates each fabric in the spirit of a global composition made up of several colour harmonies.Discover more
