SOLEIL LEVANT! A name like a promise of elsewhere, the discovery of a thousand-year-old art, landscapes and a singular craft: the Far East. Driven by the spirit of Wabi-Sabi, between fullness and the traces of human activity, the collection revisits the real or imaginary bestiary of tigers and dragons of this land, Chinese porcelain, and the techniques and patterns of traditional Japanese or Tibetan clothing. It invites poetic escapism through the interplay of textures, inks, shapes and colours in subtle harmonies.

 The multifaceted culture of this part of the world is evoked by strong references to the art of Kintsugi and its golden reflections, or to the mix of patterns found on kimonos or obis in beautiful silky fabrics. The emphasis is on indigo, the mysterious "seventh colour" of the rainbow, with its many shades of blue, from light to dark. The polychromy of the handmade embroideries and the natural shades chosen are a reference to the Zen spirit of Japan's dry gardens.
